adding 'aina' at the end of a noun creates an adjective.
For e.g., అంద(Andaṁ) is beauty and అందమైన (andamaina) is beautiful.
నల్ల రంగు (Nalla raṅgu) is black color and నల్లనైన (Nallanaina) is 'black' adjective.
పొడవ(Poḍava) is length and పొడవైన (Poḍavaina) is long. 

Then, what is పొడవైనది (poḍavainadi)?

poḍavaina umajaḍa = Long braid

poḍavainadi umajaḍa = Long is the braid, so this is a complete sentence as opposed to the above which is incomplete.
